Mark is an experienced public and private sector project finance executive, concentrating on the financing and risk management of investments in energy and infrastructure assets. He was Director of Project Finance for NuGen's planned 3.8GW new nuclear plant in the UK and most recently advised Network Rail on the Brighton Mainline upgrade project
Mark was previously a commercial & investment advisor at The Crown Estate, focused on investments in UK waters, such as offshore wind turbines, wave & tidal power, offshore transmission grids and coastal environment schemes. He was responsible for specialised credit in Standard Chartered Bank, covering credit management for project, leveraged, aircraft and ship finance.
He has a background in project & structured finance. With qualifications in law, accounting, finance and risk, he has more than 30 years' experience of investment and finance transactions in the oil & gas, mining, renewable energy, transport, infrastructure and defence sectors. Mark has worked in a range of major banks, private equity funds, corporates and advisory firms including Linklaters, WS Atkins Commerzbank and Societe Generale. He retains an active involvement with various energy, agriculture, transport, shipping and other maritime projects, in a range of emerging markets.
